A respite

After a night of rest in real beds, the adventurers return to the center of town at the agreed upon time of midday.

Zeal Lustrus: Hail fellow travellers

Maglor the Bard: Well, well, well...our lovely woodland flower

Maglor smiles at Kyil, causing her to immediately blush.

Maglor the Bard: I'm so tired, I might just nod off for a moment. By the gods! I must have a woman soon! All through the night I dreamt of soft lover's sighs...

Kyilaliana Jadystana: I...I've been thinking about those...drider things. Now that we've...fought them a few times, I...I think I know how to...fight them better.

Maglor the Bard: Can you say more, Kyil?

Kyilaliana Jadystana: They...they're weak where their abdomens join. An arrow...will pierce there easdily.

Maglor the Bard: And you've the eye to deliver, for sure.

Zeal Lustrus: Who holds the party funds, for I must give all my coin away. With those people not here should I hold my items or sell them hoping they will not need?

T.A. Grimbergen: Zeal, why don't you just sell the stuff you don't need and we'll divvy the gold later

Vren D'Lunarae: Hail, Mag

Maglor the Bard: Vren, the fox you are...

Vren D'Lunarae: Excuse me for a moment, but I must reflect on my experiences for a moment

Maglor nods, smiling. Kyilaliana assumes a more comfortable position and toys with her bowstring.

Maglor the Bard: I tell you all, now that we have arrived at a safe place, I feel I can sing my very lungs out.

A dread has been lifted from my mind
As a fog abandons the ocean shore
And all that is left, is Maglor

Kyilaliana listens dreamily as he finishes and beams.

Maglor the Bard: Kyil, have I spoke to you of my father?

Kyilaliana Jadystana: N...no.

Zeal Lustrus: Spell singer has a father?

Maglor the Bard: Hmm...well, yes, I have a father, certainly. But who he is, I know not.

Zeal looks into the sky and whistles.

Maglor the Bard: There are several possibilities

Kyilaliana Jadystana: Is...is he still alve?

Maglor the Bard: And Magda, gods love her, she favors first one rumor, then another. But yes, he may yet live. And no, he may well have passed. In truth, I know not. But I like to believe...

Kyilaliana Jadystana: *sadly* It..it must be difficult...not knowing.

Maglor the Bard: Nay, say not so, cousin.

T.A. Grimbergen: If i may ask...what side of maglor's family are you from, kyil?

Maglor the Bard: For, Magda so loves her family, that she has given me the gift of fancy in inventing him

Kyilaliana Jadystana: *smiles* We're not...family. Only by...our elvish blood does he call me...cousin. R...right?

Maglor the Bard: Tis true, cousin...yet no cousins could be closer or more dear to one another. Say it is so, Kyil?

T.A. Grimbergen: Oh... *blushes* Damn my incompetence!

Kyilaliana Jadystana: *touches T.A.'s arm* Don't be harsh...with yourself. *smiles gently*

Maglor the Bard: Yes, T.A., leave that to poor Maglor. Vren, have you pondered your new powers enough?

Vren D'Lunarae: I have only just

Maglor the Bard: Are you more deadly, Moonbeam?

Vren D'Lunarae: I have learned some interesting new spells, to say the least.

Maglor the Bard: Then Maglor will tread lightly near you

T.A. Grimbergen: say vren...wanna test it on me again?

Zeal Lustrus: I hope that thee mean more deadly to evil there singing caster

Vren D'Lunarae: I must rest before, T.A., but maybe.

Maglor the Bard: Zeal, I must admit, I love the moniker with which you have bequeathed me.

Vren D'Lunarae: One's a little on the lethal size, though.

The mage lights up his his pipe and inhales.

Maglor the Bard: ...Singing Caster

Zeal Lustrus: Is that not what thee are?

Maglor the Bard: Maglor, the Singing Caster...yes, indeed, you are right, Zeal

Zeal Lustrus: I only speak as I see, and I gather that I must be on my best behavior since my brother will be staying in town this time.

Maglor the Bard: And you see truly, Zeal. But, I have here a dilemma that I must speak to all about...

Zeal Lustrus: *listens*

Maglor the Bard: I have a crystal ball here, and I can't remember where I acquired it. However, it has great powers

Zeal Lustrus: *raises hand*

T.A. Grimbergen: indeed...did we not kill a zombie spellcaster in the last town?

Maglor the Bard: Yes, Zeal?

Zeal Lustrus: Ye got it from the one that was suppose to watch over us for your pirate capture was it not?

Maglor the Bard: Anyway, I've studied it at length, and it appears that the object can be used ...to see invisible objects and creatures ...and even to dispel illusions ...one time between sunrise and sunset.

Vren D'Lunarae: Very interesting.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: Last evening, I...I had a vision of the...goddess of the forest who whispered to me...secret words of magic. And...And look what I've learned!!

She gestures with her hands, and magical roots spring up from the ground.

Vren D'Lunarae: And useful.

Maglor the Bard: Very nice, Kyil...now allow me to ...say goodbye!

Kyilaliana Jadystana: I...I think it's the...binding vines of the earth.

Maglor the Bard: Can you see me?

Zeal Lustrus: Careful my flowered sweetness, for if a guard walks within it we would not be welcomed no more.

Maglor the Bard: *raises eyebrow at Zeal*

Vren D'Lunarae: You are hidden from my eyes, Mag

Kyilaliana Jadystana: I...hope it's...useful.

Maglor the Bard: It is a wondrous thing

Zeal Lustrus: I can sense he Mag, well now I can not... but I can sence the strum of ye lute

T.A. Grimbergen: kyil...what were you doing?

Vren D'Lunarae: I must get a quick nap.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: *stares at feet* Oh, you...didn't see it?

T.A. Grimbergen: um..sorry...

Maglor the Bard: Again, I must ask...who will carry the crystal ball?

Vren D'Lunarae: Grish would be good, Mag.

T.A. Grimbergen: The blue wizard, of course! Vren the blue.

Maglor the Bard: Vren, why don't you keep it until such a time as we find Grish?

Vren D'Lunarae: Certainly.

Maglor the Bard: Nice, is it not?

Vren D'Lunarae: *examines crystal ball*

Vren D'Lunarae: Very. Nice inlay work along the base--quite a powerful item.

Maglor the Bard: Indeed.

Vren D'Lunarae: We must remember that we have it. If a use should arise.

Zeal Lustrus: My flowered person, may I have a moment of ye time.

Maglor the Bard: Indeed twice!

T.A. Grimbergen: I wonder were our dear bother grish is anyhow...occupied again, I presume?

Kyilaliana Jadystana: Mmm? Yes...yes, Zeal?

Maglor the Bard: Undoubtedly castigating young lovers somewhere

Vren D'Lunarae: And I hear that Spag's eating habits have gotten the better of him again.

Maglor the Bard: Aye, but the raw meat is not good.

Maglor the Bard: And, I'm afraid Pol is having a ...fit.

T.A. Grimbergen: Indeed...

Vren D'Lunarae: He would probably be restless in this peaceful village anyway.

Vren D'Lunarae: Where is Pol?

T.A. Grimbergen: What did you do to her now, Mag?

Maglor the Bard: Not I, no!

Maglor the Bard: I believe she grieves yet over the phantom of her father.

T.A. Grimbergen: Don't fein innocence, dear Mag.

Vren smiles, and pulls a mouthful of smoke from a pipe. Zeal gets up and approaches the ranger with a friendly smile.

Zeal Lustrus: I wish that thee except this yellow lilly as forgiveness for the ranged weapoon words I spoke of. Dost thou forgive me?

Kyilaliana Jadystana: Oh! *covers mouth with hands* Z...Zeal. It's so...thank you.

T.A. Grimbergen: What's going on over here with you two?

Maglor the Bard: And, in truth, the woman has broken my patience, but I've little enough

Zeal Lustrus: I shall hold my tongue when it comes to your bow m'lady, for I know for without it we would surely perish.

T.A. Grimbergen: ugh...

Maglor the Bard: Well... This Zeal is a serious fellow, to be sure. And rather dishy, eh...T.A.?

T.A. Grimbergen: Zeal...i'll never understand what's going on in that mind of yours

Kyilaliana Jadystana: *blushes terribly* Th...thank you, Zeal. It's...very kind of you.

Zeal Lustrus: That is why I give ye this flower hoping forgiveness.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: I...I...I wasn't really that...upset at you. More...with myself. *stares at feet*

T.A. Grimbergen: Mag...i'm terribly shocked... I wonder if he's like that with all the ladies...perhaps he can even soften up Pol?

Maglor the Bard: THAT would take a god, T.A.

Zeal Lustrus: Pol is beyond softening for she has the heart of a diamond, hard to get through.

T.A. Grimbergen: Well put, zeal! if only she were here to enjoy your words

Maglor the Bard: I have here a dagger with magical enhancements. Monnbeam, would you care for it?

T.A. Grimbergen: Moonbeam...heh...nice

Vren D'Lunarae: Am I to assume that *I* am "Moonbeam"?

Maglor the Bard: Will you use it, Vren? Are you not a Moon elf? And is your glance not as keen as an eagles?

Vren D'Lunarae: I prefer a longsword, but I might should we encounter an enchanted creature.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: Pl...please don't speak ill..of Pol. She's kind...in her own way.

Zeal Lustrus: Speak ill, nay, m'lady for I only speak of what I see, she is her and ye are thee, we all have a piece of ourselves to give to one another.

Vren D'Lunarae: Many thanks, Mag. Are you carrying an enchanted weapon of any sort?

Maglor the Bard: Moonbeam you are, says Maglor! But, no, I have no magical weapons.

Vren D'Lunarae: Keep the dagger, then, just in case. You're more likely to get up close. I hope.

Maglor the Bard: 'Tis true that I will more likely clash blades

Vren D'Lunarae: *inhales from a pipe*

Maglor the Bard: I wonder, how long should we await our pious brother?

Vren D'Lunarae: I can wait or explore--whatever the party likes

Kyilaliana Jadystana: *smells flower deeply and places it in hair above ear* How...how does this...look, Zeal?

Zeal Lustrus: In your hair m'lady it doesn't even take away your beauty

T.A. Grimbergen: Please kyil... don't flirt with him. He's too holy.

Zeal Lustrus: I will let ye know T.A., that my armor has no holes in it at all.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: T...T.A.? Do you...think this looks..pretty? *blushes*

T.A. Grimbergen: Kyil...you don't need any flowers to show your beauty

Maglor the Bard: Zeal, are you a poet, then?

Maglor the Bard: I can wait...I feel I am coming to know more of each of you by being here

Vren D'Lunarae: *puffs on a pipe*

Zeal Lustrus: Maglor these are the funds I have gathered, the rest I have must go to Athena.

T.A. Grimbergen: So, zeal, it seems you have the with of our bard as well as his penchant for women!

Vren D'Lunarae: It's nice to be safe if only for a while

Maglor the Bard: Hmm...I wonder...do the poor have need in this village?

T.A. Grimbergen: Aye, mag, that is a worthy cause to support

Maglor the Bard: I would prefer that the funds go to the needy of the area.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: It...it was kind of you to...think of my feelings, Zeal. I...I won't forget your display of kindness.

T.A. Grimbergen: Zeal, where is the local smithy?

Kyilaliana Jadystana: Yes...yes, let's look around! *claps hands together excitedly*

Maglor the Bard: What say you all? Regarding this acquired wealth?

Vren D'Lunarae: Egad, man!

Zeal Lustrus: I can only pray to Athena that ye forgive my words of haste m'lady

Maglor the Bard: Speak on, councillor.

Vren D'Lunarae: I would like to see what we might purchase first...

Maglor the Bard: But what of the needy?

Vren D'Lunarae: We might be able to serve the needy better in other ways--if we're well-equipped

Maglor contemplates and strokes his chin. The moon elf chuckles.

Maglor the Bard: What say you, Grimbergen?

T.A. Grimbergen: I say we can spare some gold...i've amassed quite a princely sum to share

Zeal Lustrus: I must head over to the shrine of Athena to give her her gold, please excuse me.

Vren D'Lunarae: Where's Pol when I need her?

Maglor the Bard: This then: we buy some equipment, scrupulously. And whatever is left, we give to the needy

Vren D'Lunarae: Very well

Maglor the Bard: With the agreement that, henceforth, we shall always set aside funds for those in needs. Will this serve all?

T.A. Grimbergen: Well...we should keep some in reserve, knowing how expensive arrows are.

Maglor the Bard: Vren, what say you?

Zeal Lustrus: By the name of the singing caster I give this gold to Athena to do as she pleases.

Vren D'Lunarae: I feel compelled to argue a more personal choice.

Maglor the Bard: In truth?

Vren D'Lunarae: That we divide the gold, and let each decide what to do with it.

Maglor the Bard: Does your heart not bleed for the poor?

Vren D'Lunarae: Then each can give as he or she pleases.

T.A. Grimbergen: aye, vren

Maglor the Bard: But what of the others?

Vren D'Lunarae: Their cause is not mine -- the poor, that is.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: I'm...glad I know such...generous hearts. I...I could not hope to know such a...heart as yours, T.A.. *smiles affectionately*

Vren D'Lunarae: *chuckles* That way, the pious types can give to their churches as well, Mag. And others can give to their guilds if need be.

T.A. Grimbergen: I wish i could live up to those expectations, kyil

Kyilaliana Jadystana: You...you do, T.A.. And..much more.

Maglor the Bard: Who will keep the shares of gold for the others, then?

Zeal Lustrus: I can take thee all to store if thee wish.

T.A. Grimbergen: Lead on, zeal!

Vren D'Lunarae: I have a bow that I might sell.

Maglor the Bard: Maglor is loathe to hold gold, and gold is loathe to hold him. Shall we sell all first, and see what we are left with?

Vren D'Lunarae: Agreed. I will not keep you from giving, my friend.

Maglor the Bard: Lead on, Zeal

They walk a short distance towards the setting sun and find the armorer.

Zeal Lustrus: Here.

T.A. Grimbergen: Thanks, Zeal

Maglor the Bard: We must not sell the crystal ball!

Vren D'Lunarae: I will take care, Mag

Maglor the Bard: It will help us in the future

Merin Dabbensto: Hail I have plenty of wares for ye to buy, interested?

Maglor the Bard: Aye.

Zeal Lustrus: I have some chainmail that has power of +1. Doest anybody seek it before I sell?

Vren D'Lunarae: Not I.

T.A. Grimbergen: Use it well, zeal -- it fits you best.

Vren D'Lunarae: Let me give you my items to sell

Zeal Lustrus: I adivse against this elven caster for I must give the rewards to Athena

Vren D'Lunarae: I appreciate the warning

Kyilaliana runs her hands over various pieces in the shoppe.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: I...I don't really need anything beyond...my current possessions but...I do like admiring all these works.

Vren D'Lunarae: Are you looking, T.A.?

T.A. Grimbergen: I'm done, thanks

Vren D'Lunarae: Kyil?

Zeal Lustrus: Singing caster I must give 10% to Athena but here is more of what I have acquired.

Maglor the Bard: I have much gold now!

T.A. Grimbergen: Aye, I've 2000 gold now...

Vren D'Lunarae: We should get plenty of arrows and food.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: O...okay Vren.

Maglor the Bard: Tell me Zeal, do the followers of Athena help the poor.

T.A. Grimbergen: Indeed, mag

Zeal Lustrus: Athena helps all singing caster.

Maglor the Bard: Then I am in favor of your donation.

Zeal Lustrus: Ye had no choice in that matter, singing caster, for it is my calling.

Maglor the Bard: Grimbergen, are you now a warrior of Athena?

T.A. Grimbergen: Mag, i'm only beginning my spiritual journey...

Maglor the Bard: But you are not yet a paladin?

T.A. Grimbergen: ...i am only a apprentice.

Maglor the Bard: Then Athena's warrior must be mighty indeed!

T.A. Grimbergen: Nay. while i hope to be, i fear...i am not as devout as Zeal. I don't have the zeal of Zeal.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: But T.A....you've proven yourself to us...time and time again. You're...moe than an...apprentice to us.

T.A. Grimbergen: Thanks for the words of confidence, kyil. It means a lot to me.

Grimbergen gives a smile of thanks and she returns it warmly.

Zeal Lustrus: All I can say is that if ye have a shield of Athena ye are worthy of my trust T.A.

T.A. Grimbergen: Thank you, Zeal.

Zeal Lustrus: Nay thank thee, I'm blessed to with a carrier of her shield

Maglor the Bard: How much have we then?

Vren D'Lunarae: We should be sure to include those who are missing when dividing the gold. Then Maglor can hold it for them.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: Aye.

T.A. Grimbergen: Aye. How are we doing the division.

Maglor the Bard: As your first quest Grimbergen, I propose you find a razor for your beard!

T.A. Grimbergen: Nay! how dare you insult my family tradition, Mag!

Vren D'Lunarae: Only one way to make that beard go away

The elven mage begins a incantation and focuses on Grimbergen. Suddenly, the warrior cleric's unkempt beard is rendered invisible to the eye, as well as the parts of him.

T.A. Grimbergen: Ack! what have you done, Vren! *growls*

Maglor the Bard: Hark you all... Use thecrystal ball on him.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: T.A.! I...I can barely see you! *giggles*

Vren D'Lunarae: To try it?

Maglor the Bard: Yes.

T.A. Grimbergen: no...

Maglor the Bard: It didn't appear to work

Vren D'Lunarae: It has been destroyed!

T.A. Grimbergen: What?!

Maglor the Bard: Uh...oops

Vren D'Lunarae: We need something else to make it work

Kyilaliana Jadystana: Wh...what?

Vren ponders a moment, drawing on his past experience with magical artifacts.

Vren D'Lunarae: Mushroom ointment would work, I think

Maglor the Bard: What say you?

T.A. Grimbergen: mushroom ointment?

Maglor the Bard: And where might we find that?

Vren D'Lunarae: Haven't the faintest. Seems our experiment went awry.

T.A. Grimbergen: Shall we find the general shoppe and grab some rations and such?

Vren D'Lunarae: Indeed, T.A.. Although there are rations here -- I boought a few.

T.A. Grimbergen: Thanks Vren, I overlooked it.

Maglor the Bard: I think we should determine our next course of action first. It will help us decide our shopping list.

Vren D'Lunarae: Indeed, Mag

Kyilaliana Jadystana: I...I could find some...mushrooms. Perhaps...even in nearby wooded area. I...I'd need help extracting the elements to make...ointment though.

Vren D'Lunarae: Interesting, Kyil

Maglor the Bard: I remember about the crystal ball. It is indeed mushroom ointment that is required!

Vren D'Lunarae: Though, without a crystal ball it is pointless at the moment.

Maglor the Bard: Mushrooms that Kyil will know, if we find them.

T.A. Grimbergen: I'll lend whatever help you need, Kyil.

Maglor the Bard: It is not an uncommon Mushroom

Vren D'Lunarae: Ah. Very good. Well, at some point the jaunt would do us good.

Maglor the Bard: Look around, Kyil, when next we are in woods.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: *giggles* It...It be a nice change hunting...mushrooms instead of nasty creatures.

Maglor the Bard: Maglor knows of mushrooms that conjure demons to the mind when they are eaten.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: D...demons!? *shivers*

T.A. Grimbergen: Vren...there must be some mushrooms you can smoke as well, I gather.

Vren D'Lunarae: I've battled mushrooms before, but that's a story for another time. It is said that some mushrooms can disturb the fabric between dimensions.

Maglor the Bard: It is not a tale for now... well, all...we must consider our current plight. What is to be our next move?

Zeal Lustrus: Wait, an elven caster battled a mushroom? Did he lose?

T.A. Grimbergen: I must hear more of these mushrooms, vren...but perhaps another time.

Vren D'Lunarae: You have to be careful with fungi! I was victorious.

Maglor the Bard: And how not? As I was saying...

Vren D'Lunarae: Go on, Mag

Maglor the Bard: What is to be our next move in this game

Zeal crouches down and checks the bottom of Vren's boot, looking for mushroom dust.

Maglor the Bard: We are, for the moment safe. But no closer to home, that I can tell.

Vren D'Lunarae: Do we know the leader of this town?

Maglor the Bard: Indeed...we met him upon our arrival .

T.A. Grimbergen: Aye...we were not sent here as a test?

Zeal Lustrus: Is it not the Paladin?

Kyilaliana Jadystana: *sadly* Y...yes, we're still far from...home.

Vren D'Lunarae: Ah, yes.

T.A. Grimbergen: Aye kyil...but the possibilty of fighting for their cause intrigues me more than going home.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: I...I suppose you're right, T.A.. Still...I miss my sister and the rolling...treetops of my village. *toys with bowstring*

Maglor the Bard: But, before we begin anew...I should like to sing a song or two at the inn.

Vren D'Lunarae: Perhaps we can ask Merin here a few questions.

Maglor the Bard: Not a bad idea!

Zeal Lustrus: M'lady flower is not home where your heart and family is, I would hope that we are your family now?

Maglor the Bard: You know not of what you speak, Zeal. Kyil's family has...passed.

Zeal Lustrus: Nay we are alive there fore her family has not passed singing caster

Maglor the Bard: Come, let us go to the inn and forget our sorrows and fears for a time.

Vren D'Lunarae: Very well, Mag.

Maglor the Bard: Even the needy will not begrudge us that!

Vren D'Lunarae: We are definitely due a song.

T.A. Grimbergen: Come, let's go to the inn.

The others file out, leaving Kyil and Grimbergen.

T.A. Grimbergen: I shall wish to visit your village one day, Kyil.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: I...I hope to show you one day, T.A.. *smiles gently*

T.A. Grimbergen: Whenever you're ready, m'lady *opens door* After you.

Vren quickly releases a cantrip which floods the dark outdoors with light as bright as day.

Zeal Lustrus: Thee light up the area, ye are worthy caster.

Vren D'Lunarae: I try

Vren D'Lunarae: Zeal do you know of any other landmarks in the area?

Zeal Lustrus: Aye the inn is near

Vren D'Lunarae: Ah

The paladin spots a worker busy tending the grounds and greets him.

Waitress: I am sorry lord, but I must get back to my work getting rid of all this grass for building of the city.

Zeal Lustrus: Getting rid of the grass?

Waitress: Aye. I need to get ready for the builders they have already started and they need more room to build the city.

Zeal Lustrus: Then by all means please do get back to your duties.

The remnant of Maglor's Blades march into the inn and gather some seats together. Setting down in one of the plush couches, the moon elf relaxes in it and pulls out his pipe.

Vren D'Lunarae: This looks like a fairly good place for Mag to perform in.

T.A. Grimbergen: Say zeal...did you not say your brother is in this town?

Zeal Lustrus: My brother, ye mean Spag? he will be sleeping this night, and staying here to pray to Athena for forgiveness I believe

T.A. Grimbergen: haha indeed!

Waitress: Welcome, may I get something for thee?

Vren D'Lunarae: Aye. Anyone want a drink?

Kyilaliana Jadystana: No...thanks Vren, not for me.

T.A. Grimbergen: I know I shouldnt..but...

Zeal Lustrus: Nay, I not partake in the lush of that caster.

Vren orders two flagons, one for himself, the other for Grimbergen.

Vren D'Lunarae: To our health!

T.A. Grimbergen: Come now, Zeal...wine in moderation is good for the soul! Here here, Vren!

Zeal finds the innkeep and upon chatting with him, seems a bit distraught.

Zeal Lustrus: In fact the innkeeper requires one gold to sleep here so I must go outside and make camp.

T.A. Grimbergen: Do you need a gold? i can spare some for you.

Vren D'Lunarae: Certainly.

Maglor rises, and clears his throat.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: Sing...sing us a song, Maglor!

Maglor the Bard: I thought the lady would never ask

Kyilaliana smiles and claps her hands as Vren loads his pipe with some more halfling weed.

Vren D'Lunarae: Not a bad spot for your song, eh, Mag.

Maglor the Bard: I've been working on this one, lately.

'Tis a love song of sorts...
I met you on the midway
At a fair last year
And you stood out like a ruby
In a black man's ear
You were playing on the horses
You were playing on the guitar strings
You were playing like a devil
Wearing wings

The bard concludes his song with a courteous bow and is met with applause from the group.

T.A. Grimbergen: bravo!

Vren D'Lunarae: Well sung!

Kyilaliana Jadystana: Very...very nice!

Maglor the Bard: My thanks, gracious friends

With slight reluctance, the paladin takes his place at the center of attention and announces:

Zeal Lustrus: I got one for thee.

In the blackness of night the 2nd moon rose...

Then silence.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: Z..Zeal?

Zeal Lustrus: hum...hummm... ok I not a singing caster... can't remember the rest. Forgive me.

Vren D'Lunarae: *claps* The effort is well-taken, paladin.

Maglor the Bard: Was it not...then came a horseman, in black?

Kyilaliana Jadystana: It...It was a gallant attempt. *smiles*

T.A. Grimbergen: It was an good start, Zeal.

Maglor the Bard: Nay, I know this song, Zeal.

T.A. Grimbergen: I shall await the rest of your poem.

Zeal Lustrus: Aye that is is...

Maglor the Bard: Help me remember it

T.A. Grimbergen: Oh dear...i'm having trouble keeping my eyes open...i must rest

Maglor the Bard: Twas darkness when the second moon rose *looks at Zeal*

Zeal Lustrus: And thee gusts of the winds...

Maglor the Bard: Didst take up and rise to the heavens...

Zeal Lustrus: Then within the shrouds of hell

Maglor the Bard: Came deathly howling voices!

Zeal Lustrus: And within these voices came a fear of coldness

Maglor the Bard: That all of us know too well!

Zeal Lustrus: Then a mighty flower of the power with a bow came foreth

Maglor the Bard: And laid the demons down!

Maglor the Bard: Ha ha! Well sung, Zeal! *claps Zeal on shoulder*

Vren D'Lunarae: Nicely done, Zeal and Mag

Kyilaliana Jadystana: *sighs* I...I wish I was better with...speaking so I could sound as...elegant as Maglor or noble as T.A. or as wise as Vren. I...I'm not very good with people, am I? *stares at feet*

Vren D'Lunarae: You're good with us, Kyil

Kyilaliana Jadystana: You...you all mke me feel...comfortable, Vren.

T.A. Grimbergen: Kyil... what may not be able to express in words, you make up more so in your actions. You have more love in your heart than all of us combined.

Vren D'Lunarae: And words alone do not make a person great. No offense to Mag, of course!

Maglor smiles, and takes a large swig of his wine.

Maglor the Bard: *Burp* More wine!

Vren D'Lunarae: I take that back

Maglor the Bard: Aye.

Zeal Lustrus: *pats Mag on shoulder* thank thee for helping me remember

Kyilaliana Jadystana: Oh, but still T.A....I've spent my whole life never sure of...anything I say aloud, it makes me feel...inferior.

Maglor the Bard: *pours more for Grimbergen* Careful with that Grimbergen!

T.A. Grimbergen: Thank you, Mag... although i've already had a round with Vren...so i should watch myself.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: Oh! No...thank you, Maglor.

Vren D'Lunarae: Does anyone know of a mage's guild in the area?

T.A. Grimbergen: Kyil, know that your sweet voice is a joy to hear no matter what you say. And you never say anything frivilous like Mag. Any word from your mouth is important.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: *blushes* Oh, T.A....

Maglor the Bard: Where did Zeal go?

Vren D'Lunarae: To our fearless leader!

Maglor the Bard: Must Maglor drink his share of wine as well?

Vren and Maglor toast each other with another drink.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: You...you all give me courage I...never thought I had. Th...thank you all.

Vren D'Lunarae: No thanks needed, Kyil

T.A. Grimbergen: Zeal...what a character...he's camping outside because of the outrageous rates they charge here of 1 gold piece.

Maglor the Bard: Hoo, boy! In truth, I see his point...each coin we spend on our own decadence deprives an orphan.

T.A. Grimbergen: *raises his wine to the others* To Maglor's Blades!

Vren D'Lunarae: Their house wine here is not bad

And more wine is drunk.

Maglor the Bard: Ho, yeah...

Vren D'Lunarae: Orphans shouldn't be drinking wine anyway

T.A. Grimbergen: Well put, vren! OK...that's my limit for tonight. Shall we rent a room? Or should we spend the night under the stars with out dear paladin?

Maglor the Bard: I feel free

Vren D'Lunarae: We should get a room

Maglor the Bard: Only if I might lay with thee, Grimbergen.

T.A. Grimbergen: Free for for some lovin'?

Vren D'Lunarae: *cough*

Maglor the Bard: Or with thee, Moonbeam.

Vren D'Lunarae: No more wine for Maglor.

Maglor the Bard: *staggers*

T.A. Grimbergen: Oh dear...I was afraid it would come to this with Polradia gone. Let's camp out under the starry night then shall we?

Vren D'Lunarae: After all this time?! I want a clean bed

Maglor the Bard: You know, our waitress, is lovely

T.A. Grimbergen: erm...Mag...

Vren D'Lunarae: Uh oh

The bard stumbles over to the waittress with a big grin on his face.

Maglor the Bard: What do you say, my lady, shall I sing to you tonight?

Vren D'Lunarae: Mag, look -- an orphan! *points*

T.A. Grimbergen: What say you Kyil...would you like to rent a room?

Waitress: Oh my beauty, Maglor, I loved thee song and yet you are so cute, too.

T.A. Grimbergen: Aye, then a room it is, then.

Maglor the Bard: Come, love, let us away...for the night.

Vren D'Lunarae: Oh bloody hell.

Waitress: For you, my friend, aye

Vren D'Lunarae: It seems we might need two rooms.

T.A. Grimbergen: Oh dear...

Maglor the Bard: *winks at Vren* Lead the way, love!

Waitress: The rooms are this way

Kyilaliana Jadystana: *quietly to herself* One day...one day I will be more than...just the frightened little elven girl that...couldn't even say her name in a crowd.

T.A. Grimbergen: Come kyil!

Kyilaliana Jadystana: *takes deep breath*

Maglor staggers to the innkeeper, with the waitress in arm.

Maglor the Bard: 'Tis done!

Vren D'Lunarae: Gah! I'm not sure that we want to follow them

Advancing up the stairs, the half-elven bard and his maiden barge into the first room they see, leaving the door wide open.

T.A. Grimbergen: Let's get a room at the other end of the hall

Kyilaliana Jadystana: Oh...*blushes*

Waitress: What can I do for thee?

Maglor the Bard: Thy body, love.

Vren D'Lunarae: They went in there

Waitress: *takes off clothes and gets into bed*

Quickly, Vren shuts the door to Maglor's room.

Vren D'Lunarae: Here's a room.

T.A. Grimbergen: Um vren...

Vren D'Lunarae: See you all on the morn.

T.A. Grimbergen: That's a bit close -- I wouldn't want to be disturbed by them.

Vren D'Lunarae: Indeed

The remaining three companions find rooms far from Maglor.

Vren D'Lunarae: Goodnight, all

T.A. Grimbergen: Sleep well all...especially Mag.

Vren D'Lunarae: *Studies spellbook*

At the first break of dawn, Kyil, Vren, and Grimbergen arise and meet in the hall.

T.A. Grimbergen: Sleep well? Let's go find zeal...

Kyilaliana Jadystana: Let's...go sightseeing, T.A.! *tugs at T.A.'s hand*

T.A. Grimbergen: Why did mag just charge out of his room?!

Vren D'Lunarae: I couldn't sleep.

T.A. Grimbergen: Trouble, sir?

Maglor the Bard: Ah, what a beautiful day! I feel so much more...rested... heh heh

Kyilaliana Jadystana: You...

Maglor the Bard: I tell you, music has served me well

Vren D'Lunarae: Where are we off to?

Kyilaliana Jadystana: You're...so wicked Maglor! *giggles innocently*

Maglor the Bard: To the lord of the city, what say you?

Vren D'Lunarae: Sounds worthwhile.

Feeling a bit hungry, Grimbergen finds the cook downstairs.

Roirry Yeagel: Get out of my Kitchen, please.

T.A. Grimbergen: Ok, ok.

Vren D'Lunarae: No free meals, eh?

Maglor the Bard: We should speak with the lord, then determine what to do with our gold

Vren D'Lunarae: Agreed

Kyilaliana Jadystana: I...I wonder if Zeal feels...lonely by himself out here.

Maglor the Bard: Let us find Zeal

Vren D'Lunarae: Where is Zeal?

Maglor the Bard: Kyil, can you find him with your skills? \

T.A. Grimbergen: Perhaps at the shrine of Athena?

As if on cue, the paladin rejoins the others.

Zeal Lustrus: I sleep at the shrine of Athena.

Maglor the Bard: Of course.

Vren D'Lunarae: Get any sleep, Zeal?

Zeal Lustrus: Not the sleep I desired, nay.

Vren D'Lunarae: If it's any consolation, me neither.

T.A. Grimbergen: Why is that? You shoud've slept in with us.

Maglor the Bard: Maglor slept little...but well...

T.A. Grimbergen: Mag was able to strike a bargain with the waitress for the rooms.

Zeal Lustrus: I had not the gold to do so.

Vren D'Lunarae: He struck something.

T.A. Grimbergen: Indeed, vren!

Maglor the Bard: Kyil, keep an eye out for those mushrooms we spoke of...

Kyilaliana Jadystana: O...okay.

Vren D'Lunarae: And always look for pipeweed if you can, Kyil

Maglor the Bard: But we have gold to spare, Zeal!

Zeal Lustrus: Nay. To sleep near Athena is ok with me.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: Aren't...aren't you lonely out...here, Zeal? You...you shouldn't be alone when you...you have friends like us.

Zeal Lustrus: As long as I have Athena I am never alone.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: Oh...

Vren D'Lunarae: Frightening thought, Zeal. I prefer solitude sometimes. She is wise.

Maglor the Bard: Let us go to speak with our benefactor...

Vren D'Lunarae: What is the building I see to the north?

Maglor the Bard: I believe, Vren, that it is the lord's home

Vren D'Lunarae: Ah

A spark of inspiration hits the bard, and he begins a new song.

What a friend we have in Athena
Athena, is our friend
For her love is widom
And wisdom loves her
Pallas Athena!

Zeal Lustrus: Athena is solitude peace and quite is all I need

T.A. Grimbergen: Pallas Athena!

Maglor the Bard: And though I do revere Athena, yet more do I love Mielikki, for she is nature's beauty, and hath no rival

Vren D'Lunarae: I can at least admire her advocacy of learning and knowledge.

Maglor the Bard: *grasps Zeals wrist and smiles* I believe you are a mighty singer, holy warrior!

Zeal Lustrus: My heart only lingers for the beauty of Athena

Kyilaliana Jadystana: I...I don't like being...alone at all. Too much time to...reflect on a person's failings. *voice trails off quietly*

T.A. Grimbergen: We'll make sure you are never left alone agian, Kyil.

Kyilaliana Jadystana: Th...thank you, T.A.. You...you always keep me company, won't you?' *smiles*

T.A. Grimbergen: *returns smile*

Vren D'Lunarae: Come, Kyil--don't fritter on the past

Vren D'Lunarae: Are we ready, then?

The fellowship continues, and returns to the home of the paladin Vico Carlson.
