Chapter 53

The Eastward Pull of Sara's Necklace

Kadarr : [Shout] Suddenly the pain that Sara feels is also felt by Maglro

T.A. Grimbergen: Maglor!

Maglor the Singer: Grimbergen! Thank the gods. Where have you been?

T.A. Grimbergen: Preoccupied, unfortunately. Listen, there are matters we must attend to quickly

Maglor the Singer: Yes, tell me

T.A. Grimbergen: Have I mised much?

Maglor the Singer: There is some....news...but it can wait..... Tell me what transpires?

T.A. Grimbergen: Aye... firstly, I spoke with a townswoman yestereve, and she spoke in fear of the Lords of Esirup...

Maglor the Singer: *strokes chin. I had something similar happen to me

T.A. Grimbergen: When I eased her fears a bit, she further revealed that perhaps the wizard in the north of town has something to do with it. Ah....

Maglor the Singer: I'm experiencing pain

T.A. Grimbergen: Finally, she left before before... Pain?

Maglor the Singer: It has something to do with Sara's necklace

T.A. Grimbergen: But... why does it hurt you?

Maglor the Singer: But go on....what were you saying about the wizard? It comes and goes, but tell me about the wizard

Kadarr : [Shout] OOC: I was sick when I sent out the invite, probably got my directions mixed up... it is East the necklace pulls Sara, not west :(

T.A. Grimbergen: So, as she left, she quickly whispered that we should seek one named Namli for answers. Speaking of the wizard...

Maglor the Singer: Do you think we should do this immediately?

T.A. Grimbergen: I was in a meeting btween Jacia, Hold and one of their new companions -- that mage. Let us weight the options...

Maglor the Singer: Yes, Vilkos, I believe. What are the options, brother?

T.A. Grimbergen: Aye, apparently Vilkos was a necromancer, and the wizard loathes them... so, that eases my mind knowing he works against their evil

Maglor the Singer: Good news indeed. But this......when i went to the fletcher......

T.A. Grimbergen: The last item of discussion, is that the dwarven mines of Esirup are infested with some foul danger

Maglor the Singer: And then there is the matter of the necklace

T.A. Grimbergen: Ah... Go on...

Maglor the Singer: I am uncertain. The fletcher was afraid of me, as well

T.A. Grimbergen: That bodes ill... and you say the inn no longer belongs to you?

Maglor the Singer: And the necklace seems to be pulling at both Sara and me. And, yes, the people at the inn did not even acknowledge me. *looks confused. What is passing here, old friend? *shakes head. ah. There is that pain again

T.A. Grimbergen: The necklace is behaving strangely... but for me, I would like answers here... I say we seek the one named Namli ere we procced

Kadarr : [Shout] Once again Sara and Maglor feel each others pain

Maglor the Singer: Yes, let's go get the others and check him out

Aron P'rezli: and my service is to the lords

Mari Erilo: *smiles* as mari said, i do not understand your wasy. :ways:

Maglor the Singer: Where is Cruzado?

Aron P'rezli: ways... hmmm.... I think the word is obligation

Mari Erilo: are you paid?

Aron P'rezli: perhaps even destiny

Mari Erilo: do you *scratches her head*

Maglor the Singer: Saraphin, come here!

Aron P'rezli: it is not pay that I seek here. and you?

Maglor the Singer: Where is Cruzado?

Mari Erilo: in truth i was about to leave

Aron P'rezli: you cannot. *takes her aside*

Maglor the Singer: Wait!

Mari Erilo: *looks over at sara* but since she wishes to not eat the child *shakes her head* and belives she will goe east.. i guess that is the way i go. *gets pulled along*

Maglor the Singer: I guess it is only thee and I then, Grimbergen. Let us go.....perhaps they will follow

T.A. Grimbergen: Aye, let us attend to this Namli with haste

Maglor the Singer: Lead on, brother

Mari Erilo: *nods* oh. my robes

T.A. Grimbergen: I do not know where to begin ... but let us head west

Mari Erilo: she goes east

Mari Erilo: *looks at ta*

Aron P'rezli: i am sorry

Maglor the Singer: We have more immediate needs

Aron P'rezli: I have much on my mind

Kadarr : [Shout] ooc: sorry TA, my bad... when I sent out invites I was sick and not thinking straight.... East is the direction

Aron P'rezli: *stares down*

Maglor the Singer: We have something we must attend to before we leave Esirup

T.A. Grimbergen: Aye... we seek someone first who might possibly have some answers

Aron P'rezli: where are the others now?

Maglor the Singer: Apparently they have forsaken my leadership

T.A. Grimbergen: [Shout] ooc no prob K -- I understand!

Maglor the Singer: Well enough......

Aron P'rezli: nay, there is just much chaos here as of late. Mari had thought her service to you was complete?

Maglor the Singer: Come with us Aron.....let the others follow as they wish

Aron P'rezli: I pleaded with her to stay then. as you wish

Maglor the Singer: She is held by no bond

Maglor the Singer: She is free to stay or go as she pleases

Aron P'rezli: *stares down* but we will need her

Maglor the Singer: I feel she is strong and helpful. What control do I have over her? She will do what she will.

Aron P'rezli: yes, her ways are as strange to me as mine are to her

Maglor the Singer: Let's go.....if the others will not come, well then they will not

Aron P'rezli: she doubts me for my service to you and the other lords of Esirup

Maglor the Singer: Doubts you?

Aron P'rezli: yes

Maglor the Singer: Are you in love?

Angela : [Shout] screams

T.A. Grimbergen: *perks up*

Aron P'rezli: *staggers back*

Maglor the Singer: what was that?

Aron P'rezli: where di that come from? *looks around*

T.A. Grimbergen: Shall we split and each look?

Maglor the Singer: What are we looking for?

T.A. Grimbergen: We have much ground to cover/// Someone called 'Namli"... THough I do not know if it is a code phrase...

Maglor the Singer: somewhere in this part of the city?

T.A. Grimbergen: Aye, but i know not whereabout

Maglor the Singer: Very well.....let us seek out Namli in these buildings

T.A. Grimbergen: I shall head north

Maglor the Singer: North?

T.A. Grimbergen: To other regions of the town

Maglor the Singer: Where shall I meet you? ouch!

T.A. Grimbergen: Hmm...that is a dilemna...

Maglor the Singer: I'll go with thee

Mari Erilo: [Shout] LAMB

Kadarr : [Shout] DM Maglor actully feels the necklace around Sara pulling them eastward

T.A. Grimbergen: Aye

Maglor the Singer: Wait

T.A. Grimbergen: Arg...

Maglor the Singer: I don't think we can put off the necklace any longer

T.A. Grimbergen: Mayhap you should head off first? I'll catch up

Maglor the Singer: Alright

T.A. Grimbergen: Indeed... I know your toil...

Maglor the Singer: But be careful, old friend. I can't lose you, too

T.A. Grimbergen: And you as well. Take good care of the Blades!

Maglor the Singer: aye

Mari Erilo: [Shout] LAMB

Westin Nottiams: Hail, hast thee had a long trip, or just need some rest?

T.A. Grimbergen: Nay

Kadarr : [Shout] DM: The necklace begins to choke Sara even more ....

:

Maglor the Singer: Me as well

Saraphin: Is TA?

T.A. Grimbergen: *panting* Hail, Sara

Maglor the Singer: Grimbergen! Thank the gods! What did you learn?

Saraphin: TA do you also feel my pain?

T.A. Grimbergen: It is as I feared... this Namli is much more elusive than I figured

Maglor the Singer: *listens

T.A. Grimbergen: Nay Sara... but it does strike my heart to see thee and Maglor in such discomforture

Mari Erilo: *looks at sara* you bleed badly and will attract those who would wish to drink of it *looks down* you should rest and heal

Saraphin: no

T.A. Grimbergen: Let me say a small prayer for you...

Saraphin: I healed. and got worse. so no. I am meant to be in pain

T.A. Grimbergen: Pain...perhaps, is part of the journey of the amulet-bearer -- but it musn't lead to death

Saraphin: not untill

Maglor the Singer: Aye, true words, Grimbergen

Saraphin: not untill she is born at least

Mari Erilo: *looks at sara* you should move on with out philip *shrugs* he cared not that you were bleeding and dieing

Saraphin: I must live untill then. I asked him to

T.A. Grimbergen: Phillip?

Saraphin: to take care of my children...

Maglor the Singer: How much of this self-destructive martyrdom must we be asked to endure?

T.A. Grimbergen: Your children?

Saraphin: the orphanage

Mari Erilo: *turns pale* you.. you had all.. those CHILDREN?

T.A. Grimbergen: Ah...

Saraphin: No

T.A. Grimbergen: My thoughts exactly, Mari...

Saraphin: I just care for them

Mari Erilo: *looks confused*

Saraphin: I have not yet had any of my own

Mari Erilo: how do you care for them when you are not there?

Saraphin: not... yet. I do not know. I must trust in Aphrodite

Mari Erilo: were they abondoned? left for dead?

Saraphin: *looks confused and upset

Mari Erilo: in the woods?

Saraphin: some of them are just there for school. oh, quit talking to me

Mari Erilo: *blinks*

Maglor the Singer: We have our own sad stories about children, eh, Grimbergen?

Mari Erilo: what did i doo

Philip Cruz'ado: Lady Sara?

Maglor the Singer: Like the young lad we found in the forest

Aron P'rezli: Hail

Mari Erilo: YOU

Maglor the Singer: That was killed in the fireball

Mari Erilo: *shakes her fist at philip* you fool!

Maglor the Singer: Thanks, my friend

T.A. Grimbergen: Aye...that lad...*looks down in dismay*

Philip Cruz'ado: I turned him over to the General. Who will have him Risen.

Saraphin: thank you Phillip

Maglor the Singer: We're carrying rather large burdens, eh?

Philip Cruz'ado: *nods* Thank you, my Lady.

Kadarr : [Shout] As the necklace tightens around Sara's neck you can see the marks around Maglor's neck

Saraphin: *looks at you with dead eyes*

Maglor the Singer: The rosters of the dead have grown. ugh!

Philip Cruz'ado: Your necklace.

Maglor the Singer: *clutches at neck for a moment. Come, we must move quickly onward

Maglor the Singer: Let's go on

Saraphin: I have been in there. *shudders*

Saraphin: The slavers

Aron P'rezli: *scans*

T.A. Grimbergen: Sklavers?

Aron P'rezli: mlady, please, stay back

T.A. Grimbergen: This cave has changed much, Maglor

Saraphin: This is where the slavers where. Are there amy left?

Maglor the Singer: ever is it thus, with Esirup, eh, Grimbergen. anyone know what's on the other side? things change

Mari Erilo: know you not the surroundings?

T.A. Grimbergen: It shall always be a surprise in Jacklepine

Mari Erilo: TREES!

Aron P'rezli: Ahhh!

Maglor the Singer: be careful

T.A. Grimbergen: Trees these are

Mari Erilo: *looks up at the large tree*

Aron P'rezli: wonderous giants!

Mari Erilo: *tries to wrap her arms around them*

Maglor the Singer: There may be beasts about

Aron P'rezli: *gets low to search for trodden paths or tracks*

Kadarr : [Shout] As Sara reaches the Black Leaf Forest the necklace stops choking her, and the red marks around Maglor's neck disappear

Maglor the Singer: Well, that's a relief

Aron P'rezli: what?

Maglor the Singer: Now that we're in the forest

T.A. Grimbergen: eh? oh! *notices maglor's neck

Maglor the Singer: the choking sensation is gone

Aron P'rezli: shall we continue ahead/

Maglor the Singer: We must have some business here

Saraphin: *nods lightly*

Maglor the Singer: Let's have a good look around

Aron P'rezli: *scans* and yet further east m'lords?

Aron P'rezli: *aron stares in amazement at the palm of his hand* i saw it....

Philip Cruz'ado: I seem...less well trained

Maglor the Singer: Those fellows mean business!

Mari Erilo: NO

Aron P'rezli: *stares in disbelief* ..... I ..... saw it!

T.A. Grimbergen: What is the matter?!

Philip Cruz'ado: Eh? These seem..usual.

T.A. Grimbergen: What did you see?

Aron P'rezli: this happen. i saw it

Philip Cruz'ado: Why would an orc carry such a shield?

Aron P'rezli: early this morning. as I prayed to Mielikkie

Maglor the Singer: May I see it?

Philip Cruz'ado: If you like. The blade also seems not of orcish make.

Aron P'rezli: *shakes head*

T.A. Grimbergen: What vision did the Lady Mielikkie grant you, Aron?

Mari Erilo: RR' TU 'U HaNNHaZG?? RRHaN URHKOGG AG NRHaN? ZHaK 'U KUN GO RUHTG< TU 'U KUN GKUR, HHaKTG 'U RGN GRHaHO

Aron P'rezli: I saw the orcs. i saw the battle

Philip Cruz'ado: Though I know that device, Lord Maglor.

Aron P'rezli: i saw my friends being hurt. it all came to pass

Maglor the Singer: This blade is magical

Aron P'rezli: *shakes head*

T.A. Grimbergen: Dire prophetic visions indeed...

Aron P'rezli: Mari!

Philip Cruz'ado: Explains the balance.

Aron P'rezli: It came to pass. this is what I saw!

Mari Erilo: THIS IS TERRIBLE. TERRIBLE

Aron P'rezli: yes

Mari Erilo: My kin folk

T.A. Grimbergen: Splendid shield!

Aron P'rezli: you hear that?

T.A. Grimbergen: You recall, that she was raised by orcs?

Aron P'rezli: can you convince them not to attack us?

Philip Cruz'ado: I did.

Maglor the Singer: I see

Mari Erilo: They bear the markings of another clan *shakes her head*

Aron P'rezli: most impressive TA

Mari Erilo: there way is not of one to barter with, they take what they want

Philip Cruz'ado: Well struck indeed.

Maglor the Singer: Rather tough orcs

T.A. Grimbergen: Aron, what was more impressive was how quickly you sprang to her aid! That was the meaning of haste!

Mari Erilo: and right now

Aron P'rezli: I cannot hide my mistrust of the orcish ones

Mari Erilo: they wish to eat *shrugs* you can not fault a hungry man

Aron P'rezli: no offense to Mari intended

T.A. Grimbergen: So you say... especially when they deal with Mari, no?

Philip Cruz'ado: I can fault any that wish to make me their dinner, Mari.

Aron P'rezli: *looks at TA puzzlingly*

Mari Erilo: perhaps the city has over hunted these lands

Maglor the Singer: Well said, Cruzado!

Aron P'rezli: *shakes head8

T.A. Grimbergen: That gives them naught a license to hunt men

Mari Erilo: *looks down at her fists* what is left to eat in these woods T.A? see you a dear? :Deer: a rabit? a wolf?

T.A. Grimbergen: Look up, my dear -- you embraced it yourself -- fruit and nuts from the splendid trees!

Aron P'rezli: I am sure I could find some roots and grass that would provide sustennance, given proper time. are you alright?

Mari Erilo: *shakes her head* one can not live off that onle

Philip Cruz'ado: So are we to root them out?

Mari Erilo: :alone:

T.A. Grimbergen: Look!

Mari Erilo: ooc- ROFL

Aron P'rezli: *looks admiringly at the yellowish tinge on the leaves falling*

Maglor the Singer: It reminds me, Grimbergen, of the centaur creature that used to aid us, early on

T.A. Grimbergen: More than once, if I recall correctly

Mari Erilo: *shakes her head* what you can fault.. is the fact.. that they chose weapons over there words *shakes her head*

Maglor the Singer: Saved us many times, he did

T.A. Grimbergen: We are always indebted to the magical creatures of the forest

Maglor the Singer: aye

T.A. Grimbergen: True that, Mari

Philip Cruz'ado: I am certain Maglor agrees there, Mari.

Saraphin: [Whisper] TA

T.A. Grimbergen: Shieldmaiden Sara...

T.A. Grimbergen: [Whisper] yes?

Maglor the Singer: Every villain thus far that has raised his blade against us has died a bloody death

Aron P'rezli: *seaches*

Saraphin: [Whisper] Why did you not feal the pain too?

Maglor the Singer: Except for Ranther......we have yet to deal with Ranther

Aron P'rezli: Maglor

Maglor the Singer: aye

Aron P'rezli: the Fletcher

Maglor the Singer: Yes?

Aron P'rezli: Isendar?

T.A. Grimbergen: [Whisper] The amulet passes when a new bearer is found...but the strange thing is that Maglor shares your burden

Maglor the Singer: Yes?

Aron P'rezli: gave to me items with with to help fashion arrows and bolts, if my meager skills hold up

T.A. Grimbergen: [Whisper] I can only say... there must be some other link between you two causing it...for good or ill

Saraphin: [Whisper] and why did you not come to our aid when the slavers came for me

Maglor the Singer: excellent

Aron P'rezli: :which:

Mari Erilo: *looks troubled*

Saraphin: [Whisper] The child?

Aron P'rezli: I'll need to start a fire. have we time?

Aron P'rezli: I have used my volley already

Saraphin: [Whisper] I just found out

Maglor the Singer: we will need to rest anyway

Aron P'rezli: *makes fire*

Maglor the Singer: and it is growing dark

Saraphin: ah, sleep

Small Fire to Make Arrows and Bolts: The campfire you have built just gives off enough heat to melt the glue for you to make arrows or bolts. So what you like to do?

Saraphin: That I need

Aron P'rezli: ahhh there. just hot enough. Make Arrows

Small Fire to Make Arrows and Bolts: Azer Fire Arrows

Aron P'rezli: Aye I want to use an arrow shaft, some Feathers, and an Azer Arrow Head to make arrows.

Maglor the Singer: *sings

T.A. Grimbergen: I'll grab some chestnuts and we can roast them

Maglor the Singer: *Many are the seeds I've sown

Aron P'rezli: there we go

Maglor the Singer: *Through Jackelpine's find breeze

Aron P'rezli: though I fear my raw materials are depleted now

Maglor the Singer: *It's women love and leave 'tis said. *Love gives no life of ease

Small Fire to Make Arrows and Bolts: The campfire you have built just gives off enough heat to melt the glue for you to make arrows or bolts. So what you like to do?

Aron P'rezli: Make Arrows

Saraphin: oooh

Maglor the Singer: I must rest

Saraphin: *yawns*

Maglor the Singer: I am weary

Aron P'rezli: i will stand watch

Saraphin: *steadies herself with the tree* Oooh

Maglor the Singer: Will you tell me more about your state of mind?

Mari Erilo: *sits cross legged, eyes fixed forward saying nothing*

Maglor the Singer: Or am I to guess at it by your silence?

Saraphin: *looks very distraught* amd I feel ill.

Maglor the Singer: I've told you before and I tell you now, I have many duties that do not allow me the luxury to spend my time where I will

Kadarr : [Shout] DM: and that is game folks... hang on....

Aron P'rezli: [Whisper] are we to tell Maglor of what we heard in the tavern the other day?
